what to expect from apple event

This list summarizes all of the products that we anticipate Apple to unveil at their “Wonderlust” event on September 12.

iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus

In 2023, Apple will continue to offer four different iPhone models, with the regular iPhone 15 versions coming in 6.1 and 6.7-inch sizes, same like last year. With the notable exception of a USB-C port, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will essentially resemble the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.

The iPhone 15 models will switch to USB-C from Lightning, allowing iPhones, iPads, and Macs to share a charger and a charging cord. Although USB-C technology will be used globally, Apple is making this modification due to regulatory requirements in Europe that require products to have a standardized charging connector.

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus do away with the notch that was present in last year’s iPhone models. The Dynamic Island, which Apple first employed for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, will be adopted by the upcoming iPhones in order to create extra display area.

Although Dynamic Island will be available on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, ProMotion refresh rate and always-on display will only be available on Pro models. One more minor design adjustment has to do with the glass back. The Pro iPhone lineup has traditionally included frosted glass, however the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are anticipated to sport a frosted glass back rather than a glossy glass back.

According to speculations, the iPhone 15 will be available in new hues from Apple, including blue, an orange-pink coral tint, a light greenish yellow tone, white, and black. Each new iPhone might come with braided USB-C cables that match its color.

With the adoption of a 48-megapixel main camera with an f/1.6 aperture for higher-resolution photographs and greater quality in low light conditions, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus represent a substantial advancement in camera technology. A 12-megapixel Ultra Wide camera will also be included, however it is the same camera used in iPhone 14 models without any improvements.

With the upcoming release of new Qualcomm 5G modem chips, signal quality, latency, and power economy may all be enhanced. The A16 processor now found in the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will be used in the normal iPhone 15 models while Apple develops a new A17 chip specifically for the iPhone 15 Pro versions.

For the normal iPhone 15 models, there have been no reports of increased battery life, WiFi speeds, or RAM, and it is anticipated that the price will not change.

iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max

Instead of the regular iPhone 15 models, the Pro iPhone models will receive the majority of the exciting new updates and feature enhancements this year. We anticipate two Pro iPhones, the 6.1-inch iPhone 15 Pro and the 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Pro Max, similar to last year.

A few small design tweaks are anticipated for the iPhone 15 Pro versions, with Apple notably adding slimmer, curved bezels and a new titanium material for the chassis. The titanium used in the construction of the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max comes in a variety of colors, including silver, titanium gray, black, and dark blue. Additionally, because titanium is lighter than steel, the iPhone 15 Pro models may be 10% lighter. Titanium will have a more matte surface than stainless steel.

Although there were speculations that Apple was experimenting with changing the volume button, the volume button upgrade did not work out, thus there won’t be a change there. However, it’s anticipated that Apple will replace the mute switch with a mute button that serves a variety of purposes, much like the Action button on the Apple Watch Ultra.

The button may be able to activate the Camera, switch on the Flashlight, activate a Shortcut, engage Focus mode, open the Translate app, begin a Voice Memo, and more, according to code in iOS 17.

The iPhone 15 Pro models will have USB-C, just like the iPhone 15 models, however the Pro models reportedly support Thunderbolt (40Gb/s) or USB 3.2 (20Gb/s) transfer speeds. There are rumors that some iPhone 15 models, most likely the Pro ones, may support charging at up to 35W.

Although Apple is anticipated to leave the Main 48-megapixel camera alone, the Wide Angle and Telephoto cameras of both Pro models are receiving small upgrades to improve low-light performance. The biggest new camera feature, a periscope zoom option for the telephoto lens, will be available on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Optical zoom is now only capable of a 3x magnification, however Apple is anticipated to increase this to 5x or 6x zoom with periscope technology.

The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will have the A17 chip, which was created using a new 3-nanometer manufacturing technique, in contrast to the normal iPhone 15 models, which will employ the A16 chip. This will be the first chip constructed on a new node in a number of years, and it should result in considerable performance and efficiency gains. It’s anticipated that battery life will rise.

The full range of iPhone 15 models from Apple will all use the same 5G Qualcomm chip, and there are also speculations of a brand-new “U2” Ultra Wideband chip that will work with the upcoming Vision Pro headset. Wi-Fi 6E, the most recent and swiftest Wi-Fi protocol that utilizes the 6GHz band, will be included in the Pro models. The Pro models will have 8GB RAM, up from 6GB in the Pro models from last year, and there may be up to 2TB of storage available.

The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max are loaded with features, and there are rumors that this could result in a price rise. Apple is rumored to be contemplating a price increase, but the exact amount is still unknown. The price of the new models could increase by $100, making the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max start at $1,099 and $1,199, respectively.

Apple Watch Series 9

There will be a new Apple Watch this year, but this incremental upgrade doesn’t provide anything to look forward to. We do not anticipate any additional design modifications or health-related features.

The internals, especially a new processor, will actually be the main emphasis of the upgrade. The first significant update to the Apple Watch chip since the Apple Watch Series 6 will be the new S9 chip, which is based on the A15 technology.

The Apple Watch Series 9 will have better performance and maybe have longer battery life. Additionally, an upgraded optical heart rate sensor and a new “U2” Ultra Wideband processor with improved location accuracy are anticipated for the Apple Watch Series 9.

Apple may plan to release a new style of band with woven fabric and a magnetic buckle, as well as a new pinkish hue for the Series 9’s metal body. There have also been speculations that leather bands are gradually being replaced by more environmentally friendly alternatives.

Apple Watch Ultra 2

In 2023, the Apple Watch Ultra is anticipated to receive an update, although no new features are anticipated. The gadget will include the improved Ultra Wideband chip, the new heart rate sensor, and the same S9 chip that will power the Apple Watch Series 9; however, we are unaware of any other features that may be in the works.

It is not yet known whether a leaker’s claim that the second-generation Apple Watch Ultra will be lighter than the first-generation is true. Rumors suggest that the new color option will be a black titanium tone, so that may be one alteration.

USB-C AirPods

As the iPhone 15 switches to a USB-C port from a Lightning port, the AirPods Pro 2 is anticipated to be updated with a USB-C charging case to replace the current Lightning case.

The AirPods Pro 2 will remain unchanged in terms of hardware, so expect the same model with an upgraded charging connector.

New iPhone Cases

Apple will use a more environmentally friendly material for the iPhone 15 series rather than producing leather cases, according to numerous sources.

There is speculation that the new material will be woven and go by the name “FineWoven,” although it is not yet known if this is true.

Other Possibilities

There are wildcard goods associated with some of the fall events that may or may not be updated in September, but this year, other from the iPhone and Apple Watch, not much else is anticipated.

11th-Generation iPad

Although there haven’t been any speculations of a new inexpensive iPad, Apple has generally updated the tablet once a year. The existence of an 11th-generation iPad is conceivable but not certain.

Possibly Coming Later This Year

The Apple Watch Series 9 and iPhone 15 models might not be the only gadgets we see in 2023. Before the year is up, Apple may unveil the first M3 Macs, which are said to include a 13-inch M3 MacBook Air, 13-inch M3 MacBook Pro, and M3 Mac mini. It’s unknown what might occur since Mark Gurman of Bloomberg claims that M3 Macs will be released this year, but Ming-Chi Kuo of Apple Research claims that M3 Macs won’t be introduced until 2024.

Apple may host an event in October or later in the year issue a press release announcing the M3 Macs if new Macs are due in 2023.

The 2023 arrival of a new iPad Air is also a conceivable, according to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg. If so, it might be visible in October.

Not Coming Yet

Other than the 11th-generation iPad, there won’t be any new iPads released in 2023. Updates to the iPad Pro and iPad mini are coming, but not until 2024.
